After a busy Friday, the hospital had settled down. The outpatient department was closed and ward and OB rounds were done. It had been a long week, and I had made plans that evening to hang out at the guest house with new friends starting at 7pm. It was around lunchtime on a rather slow day at the hospital. Some of the roads leading to the hospital had become impassable, due to the frequent mudslides that plague this area during the monsoon season.
