Yesterday our MedShare container arrived after a long journey which started halfway around the world in Atlanta, Georgia in the U.S. The 40 foot container traveled over the ocean to India, where the goods were then divided up and loaded onto two trucks which made their way to Dadeldhura. Our staff and some of our community members helped unload the trucks, and it was like Christmas again as we inventoried all of the items we received – from basic necessities such as gloves, needles, and suture, to high quality surgical instruments and equipment to perform endoscopies. We had written previously on our blog about raising funds for a container full of donated medical equipment from MedShare. We were thrilled to reach our goal this past September, and are now anxiously awaiting the arrival of our 40-foot container full of supplies for our hospital. The container left the US last month and is now on a cargo ship somewhere in the China Sea on its way to Kolkata, India.
